Law Day 2009
On May 1, 2009, honor students from the Uniontown High School appeared before Judge John F. Wagner, Jr. in the various roles of prosecution and defense attorneys, criminal defendant, victim and witnesses in a Mock Trial case involving computer crimes. All the students played their roles well and some voiced enthusiasm about a future legal career. The jury, made up of members of the FCBA, found the defendant guilty but no jail time was imposed. The defendant was instead able to join her class mates and members of the FCBA for lunch at the Uniontown Country Club. Members of the Young Lawyers Committee are looking ahead to this years Mock Trial when Uniontown High School students will compete with students from Albert Gallatin High School.
Toys For Tots 2009
In December 2009, the FCBA held its 5th annual Toys for Tots holiday event at Caleighs Restaurant. Members of the bar once again extended their kind generosity with the purchase of gifts that were donated to the United States Marines Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. In recognition, the FCBA again received the Commanders Award for its outstanding achievement in support of the efforts of the Marine Corps Reserve to give holiday gifts to the children they serve in Fayette County.
